Who May Apply: ALL QUALIFIED APPLICANTS who are current active Florida Wing Members of the Civil Air Patrol and/or those eligible to become a Florida Wing Member of the Civil Air Patrol in the ranks of 2d Lt. and above.

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Be currently enrolled in the Public Affairs and/or Information Technology Specialty Track.
2. Must be available to attend various Public Affairs Specialty briefings, job specific training courses and seminars varying in length and location.
3. Must be willing to commit to a minimum one year initial tour.
4. Must be able to meet the high integrity standards of this position.
5. Must be willing to provide Online News System training and assistance to other members.

Desired Qualifications: Ideal Candidate’s Core Competencies (Recommended Qualifications): 1. Achieved Level II of the Senior Member Professional Development Program with a SENIOR rating in Public Affairs and/or Information Technology. 2. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software. 3. Experience with project management helpful. 4. Effective and efficient oral and written communication skills. 5. Thorough knowledge of CAPR 110-1 and 190-1. 6. Experience writing, editing, and using image editing software. 7. Experience with, or willing to learn, the Online News System. Additional Remarks: Applications from members not meeting the ideal standards listed above will be considered. The Selectee will be assigned to Florida Wing on an additional duty (ADY) basis and will continue to perform their primary functions at their home unit. This position requires an estimated 1-2 hours per week, though workload may vary according to content submitted. Selectee should have a reliable high-speed internet connection and the ability to access the system at least daily.

Duties:

Assists the Director of Public Affairs in managing the Online News System. They shall:
1. Assist with the registration of new system users and update existing accounts.

2. Edit articles submitted by subordinate units for accuracy, grammar, and OPSEC compliance.

3. Upload photos to accompany articles, editing for file size if needed.

4. Coordinate technical failures with FLWG and SER IT Officers to successful resolution.

5. Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Public Affairs.

6. Submit activity reports as required.

7. Check for and approve articles for publication on the FLWG website within 48 hours of submission.

8. Respond to questions from FLWG members regarding the Online News System.
